Information about standard names

This page shows which standard name belongs to a name. Click on a blue letter and/or scroll to the wanted name. A name can be written in different ways. For example : Karczmarski is also written as Kaczmarska, Kaczmarski, Karczmarska, Karczmarski, Karzmarska and Kazmarski. In the worst case even the first letter can be different. So it can happen that when looking at baptisms of children sorted on name you overlook some baptisms of children of the same person when his/her name is present in different varieties. That is why I have given different varieties of a name a standard name. Without doubt I made mistakes with some names :    - they are no varieties of each other but they have the same standard name    - they are varieties of each other but they have a different standard name. The selection and sorting of names on this website happens by means of the standard names, except on this page. The standard names are only visible on this page. Every name that differs from the standard name is on this page bold. Example : you find Arbawska elsewhere on this site between names beginning with a 'H' because I assume that the standard name is Harbowski.
